Low, low down, Our secrets buried deep beneath the ground, Accept this descent, Our bodies crawling down towards the end. Deep, Deep down, As death returns us to the earth we are bound. After all this time, After all is lost, We reach our hands For the dying sun. Stretching to the heavens But still, I must insist That all descends And heaven doesn't exist Low, low down, Our secrets buried deep beneath the ground, Accept this descent, Our bodies crawling down towards the end. Deep, Deep down, As death returns us to the earth we are bound.

about

Over the past couple months, I've noodled away at creating some weird, math-rock influenced mixes of tracks for the then-upcoming album for Scarlett Viney's solo project - Caustic Grip, - "The Descent"

This reflects the style that I've been headed in for some time, wherein the experimental structures & rhythms of Math-Rock are combined with the soundscapes & groove-heavy nature of 80's-90's EBM/Industrial Dance. The term that I've developed for this sound is, "Math & Body."

Such aspects can be found most prominantly in the two-track combo, "AM + The Descent," where Idunno how many fraggin' time signatures are in that track, and the entire structure is gutted out & messed with, but y'can still dance to most of it.

Note as of 13/July/2021: Uh... the mastering on this thing really sucked.

I'm a bit too lazy to go back and re-render the first track, since I'm pretty sure I screwed it up real bad by doing a cruddy attempt at adding high-end by duplicating the main render and high-pass-filtering it, then putting the two bits together. However, the tracks are now (hopefully) at somewhat of a consistent level now, since I know a slight bit more about mastering than I did when I noodled these out in late high-school.

Also, I fixed the deadname crap, that too.

Anyways, 'Hope ya'll enjoy anyways.
